Las Vegas is now ready to open the doors to its customers with a soft opening post the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic. Before its launch, the casinos from Las Vegas created a 30-second advertisement that showed a lever flipping suited man who was powering up Las Vegas’ slumbering strip in a marvelous burst of color and electricity.
The ad was set to be launched on the morning of Tuesday. This was about two days prior to the casinos planning to lift off the shutdown & open its doors to the visitors after 80 days. However, the demonstrations that happened during the weekend resulted in 100s of arrests. The protesters were broken up from rallying by the police with the use of pepper balls, tear gas, & beanbag projectiles.
This is why the tourism authority pushed its launch or simply said reopening to Thursday. However, things didn’t go as planned when yet another violent incident at night left one of the police officials shot dead in his head along with a man murdered outside a close by the courthouse.
Eventually, the plan to air the commercial got shelved. Now, the gambling mecca is slowly coming back to life from the COVID-10 trauma, but things are still a bit groggy.
